month for general use.
Urgent Action: (Laura Lee)
Larissa sent a letter re UA in Iran.
KDSS Group: (Fred)
After a slow semester, partly because of Fred’s limitations, the Group has
wound down for the summer. Aaron may continue as Leader in September now
that he has had a year under his belt.
Labour Net: (Fred)
Scott Thompson is interested in working with Fred on the Net, recruiting
and responding. Scott, a graduate of journalism from Niagara College,
lives in Kitchener and is the partner of Melanie Haines; both have
volunteered for Amnesty over the years. Melanie recently wrote an article
for Fred regarding the jailing of the Native Canadians over the mining
issues. This appeared in the Independent. Melanie was the first Student
Leader when Fred became chair in 2000. Scott has projects to clean up and
hopes to start in September.
New Business: We are to keep using the internet and the Activist to write
letters for AI.
Next Meeting: September 16, 2008, Kincardine United Church, 7.30 p.m.
